Anti-poly(ADP-ribose), clone 10H, mouse monoclonal antibody

The anti-poly(ADP-ribose) mouse monoclonal antibody, clone 10H, recognizes poly(ADP-ribose). It was developed and originally described by H. Kawamitsu et al. (1984) Biochemistry 23, 3771. Poly(ADP-ribose) is a polymer synthesized by a class of enzymes named poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), PARP1 being the canonical member. Using NAD+ as substrate, PARP1 catalyzes the formation of the polymer pADPr, with chain lengths ranging from 2 to 300 residues, containing approximately 2% branching in the chain. pADPr is attached to nuclear and other proteins, and to PARP itself (automodification). The clone 10H monoclonal antibody has been described extensively in the literature, and its uses include Western blotting, immunostaining (see below), ELISA-based PARP activity screen, and immunodot blot.

Description: Highly purified normal mouse IgG conjugated to CL-agarose via a 10-atom spacer, similar to the Cat. #1030 except here uses non-immune mouse IgG.  It is useful as a negative control to determine non-specific binding in immunoprecipitation assays compared to Cat. #1030.
